Growing up in an unpredictable environment, I found stability and belonging in the presence of animals. From an early age, I regarded them as sentient beings, with their own emotions, intelligence and individuality. This formed the foundation of my critical view on human behaviour towards the more-than-human world.
My long-term research-based projects develop through artistic and archival research, fieldwork, text, photography, moving image and sound. I seek dialogue and collaboration with scientists, specialists and fellow artists to broaden my perspective, valuing the knowledge and perspectives they bring to my practice.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, my work questions how we relate to the natural world and aims to encourage reconsideration of the values we choose to live by. I strongly feel that compassion towards the world beyond our own begins with deep reflection on ourselves.
I am a founding member of Split Collective.
